Turn a messy folder of pay stubs into one clean rental application packet.
Landlords ask for the same stack every time: ID, two pay stubs, a bank statement, references. RentPacket merges them into a single tidy PDF with a cover checklist and page numbers — and lets you black out your SSN and account numbers first, properly.
Build your packet
Add whatever you have — PDFs or phone photos (PNG/JPG). The packet comes out in the order leasing offices expect, with a cover page listing what's inside and what page it's on.
Works with PDF, PNG, and JPG. Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first (your bank's download page can do that).
How it works
Before & after
A worked example using obviously fake sample documents (fictional person, fictional bank — every file is watermarked as a sample).
Before: 4 loose files
- photo-id.png — ID photo with date of birth showing
- pay-stub-june.pdf — SSN printed on it
- pay-stub-july.pdf — SSN printed on it
- bank-statement-july.pdf — full account number showing
Four attachments in four formats, sensitive numbers visible in all of them.
After: 1 packet
- sample-packet.pdf — 6 pages, one file
Cover page with checklist and page numbers; documents in canonical order; SSNs, the account number, and the date of birth blacked out — and because redacted pages are flattened, those numbers are not recoverable from the file. This exact file was produced by the tool on this page.
RentPacket Pro — join the waitlist
The builder on this page is free and stays free. We're gauging interest in a Pro version for people who apply to several places at once:
- Auto-detect — finds SSNs and account numbers on your pages and suggests the black-out boxes for you
- Saved packets — update one pay stub and re-download, instead of rebuilding from scratch
- Multi-applicant packets — combine two applicants + a co-signer into one submission
The button opens your email app — sending the email is the whole signup. No signup form. If the button doesn't work, email ops@glassmarketing.co with the subject "RentPacket waitlist".
Questions people ask
- Where do my documents go?
- Nowhere. The page downloads its code once, then works entirely on your device. Your files are read into your browser's memory, combined there, and the finished PDF is saved straight from your browser to your downloads folder. You can even load this page, disconnect from the internet, and build your packet offline.
- Is the black-out real redaction, or just a black box on top?
- Real. A black box drawn on top of text in a normal PDF can be lifted off — the text is still in the file. RentPacket instead re-renders any page you black out into a flat image, so the pixels behind the box are all that remain. The trade-off: redacted pages can't be text-searched, because they're pictures.
- Why is it free?
- The builder costs us almost nothing to serve because your device does the work. If enough people want the Pro features above, that becomes the paid tier — hence the waitlist.
- What documents do landlords actually ask for?
- Most commonly: photo ID, your two most recent pay stubs (or an offer letter if you're starting a new job), and sometimes a recent bank statement, references, or a credit report. The slots above are ordered the way leasing offices usually want the stack.
